Overview: Blue velvet shrimp is a beautiful variant of ever popular Red cherry shrimp. Very hardy species, very adaptable, great addition to your clean up crew. They are very active, always looking for something to feed on. Will breed easily, as mine did, they will form a colony which will look after your tank. Beware of bigger tank mates who may prey on them, especially young ones. In fact not many fish will leave baby shrimp alone, apart from Oto’s to my experience. Make sure you install sponge pre filter if you want to keep the young ones. I highly recommend these if you are thinking of having shrimp.
